Grade: B-
As things wind down from probably one of the most insane & tense
Being Human episodes to date, there is still the clear unresolve of what exactly is going to transpire between Aiden & Henry. As well, One of the big reveals of last week, & what made everyones story so even handed, was the discovery of Sally’s new tormentor not being her now dead ex, Danny, but the aforementioned Reaper who now has a face to go along with the ghostly black cloud. While Josh is sidelined a bit in the episode, after last week why shouldn’t he be, much of the story comes from Aiden & Sally. Much of that story in
”I’ve Got You Under Your Skin” is also well worth the entire episode.
With the reveal that Sally’s reaper instead of shredding her but actually wants to make a deal does include much of the tension. As we follow her around after her attempt to shred the reaper we see that much of his game also revolves around Sally & not having her go after other troublesome ghosts first. This leads her to her first job with him which deals with the much loved Stevie from earlier in the season. Meanwhile Aiden is back to trying to help his ‘son’ Henry & is also under the pressure from Suren to quell Bishop’s orphans. Josh on the other hand has been moping around since the full moon & after a week of not showing up to work or going out at all his sister shows up to take him out for a night. This ends up being a set up & a much needed confrontation for the new player in the season, his former fiancĂ© Julia.
Much of
”I’ve Got You Under Your Skin” has to do with its title, which as usual is very heavy handed. In many ways across our trio we see just how deep each of their problems in the episode goes. Josh & Julia, Sally & the Reaper, & Aiden & Henry all have very deep bonds & although they may not all be good, or long lasting, they all have a very deep impact for them in the season & who they are as characters. In the end much of their resolve comes from trying to solve their problems but at the same time is also held back just because of who they are & who these people are. Just like its a bad idea getting back together with an ex we leave certain people out of our lives for a reason & sometimes its hard to ignore that very reason why we do it in the first place.
