"Dream Reaper" - Being Human.

From SyFy

Grade: B

At the end of ”When I Think About You I Shred Myself” we found out that Sally had gone off the deep end & that she was actually the ‘Reaper’ who had been shredding all her friends with a climactic end of shredding her ex, Nick, & then trying to kill Josh & Aiden. In the best bottle episode of the series, ”Dream Reaper”, we see Aiden & Josh trying to help Sally, who is now completely controlled by her ‘Reaper’ persona, all while Sally dreams that she is still alive living the house, which all gussied up & purple, with her fiancé, the reaper, Scott.

As Sally dreams, Josh & Aiden try to figure out what to do & their best solution is calling Zoe up to come over & help Sally all while remaining quiet about that fact that Sally just shredded Zoe’s boyfriend (Sally’s ex) Nick. As soon as they get Zoe over & try to help Sally things take a turn for the worse as the reaper personal, ‘Scott’, decides to start blurting out all the secrets of the house from Aiden’s blood-soaked room, Josh’s breakup with Nora, & how Sally shredded Nick before Zoe came over to help. The reaper personal then traps them all in the house with no way out to end up killing one another as Aiden is suffering from blood withdrawal & it is a full moon that night. ”Dream Reaper”, ever continuing the trend of clever names, brings alive one of the most clever episodes all while it is a basic bottle episode.

The tension that is able to build between the characters during their fight to save Sally is some of the best of the season. ”Dream Reaper” does continue on another odd trend of Being Human thought as it seems like a small scene is missing, like in ”Dog eat Dog”. We do however get to see one of the funniest & at the same time harrowing moments as Josh, trying to help Aiden from feeding on Zoe, offers himself up & the ramifications of the taboo of a vampire feeding on a werewolf. In the end the delivery is able to keep the confined space of the house the most tense building element of the episode all while being one of the largest landscapes they have dealt with.
