"All Out of Blood" - Being Human.

From SyFy

Grade: A-

“All Out of Blood” goes back to dropping bombs & in the end the audience is left with barely a chance to breathe. From what Sally let through the door to the repurcussions of Josh turning Nora & oh, can’t forget, Aiden & his recent restriction on the blood he was getting from the hospital. In the end we are left with 3... really, 4 amazing stories dealing with a monster squad and their non-angst ridden problems.

Being Human is no stranger to throwing as much to the wall & seeing what sticks from the original UK series but nothing compares to the careful layout like that of ”All Out of Blood”. Even our side character stories are incredibly interesting & that is one thing that rarely happened in season one. Outside of Bishop everyone else introduced that was related to our dark heroes was somewhat flat & used only in a clear advance to the plot. In season 2 we have witnessed some major side character introduction & use with Nora & especially with Suren, the latest ruler of Boston. Nora especially shines in the episode as she reveals to Josh that she clearly remembers her wolfing out & killing Heggeman. Not only that but it becomes clear that Nora isn’t as ok as Josh is with caging his wolf literally & figuratively. The way that Josh & Nora’s story intertwines with Aiden is another highlight to a powerful episode as we the significance of just who Aiden has started seeing romantically. As well, Sally’s completely separate story adds another layer of suspense as to just what did she let through her door & what it wants to do to her this season.

With a more coherent season, Being Human is clearly raising its stakes in producing one killer of a finale & the desire it’s building from week to week is somewhat & seemingly unbearable. Our leads are also doing a great job of really digging into their characters & breathing even more life & nuance into them. Without a doubt, season 2 is pulling some amazing shots & just exactly what the wolf, the dark shadow, & Suren have planned are going to either leave people completely fulfilled or angry in a major way.
