"Turn This Mother Out" - Being Human.

From SyFy

Grade: A-

Being Human’s return keeps the series chugging along not long after the events of its season 1 finale. Almost a month has passed & things are not all that different outside of the fact that Aiden is now the head of the Boston clan of vampires, Josh & Nora’s relationship is still going strong even though Nora hasn’t been that honest about her scratch, & Lisa seems to have gained some lasting energy to move things around after her door appeared & disappeared right after. Things has obviously been on the up & up during the brake for our characters & of course as we return & another full moon is about to appear it seems that things are about to take a turn for the troublesome for everyone.

The return of Being Human continues & improves upon the strong episodes seen during the end of the first season with our three main characters getting to shine in a storyline all their own. The serial focus has also come together much more to deliver a whole lot of expectations for the season. As the full moon draws closer Nora barrages Josh with more & more questions about the wolf & the transformation. Unaware that he had scratched Nora during his last transformation, Josh is unwilling to really delve into the topic of his misfortune & he tries dodging Nora’s requests as much as he can. At the beginning of the episode we also see that Lisa’s invitation to her high school reunion arrive & Aiden & Josh convince her to go if for anything to make unheard comments about her former classmates. Aiden throughout the episode is focused on trying to keep the large vampire clan fed & calm with Bishops recent offing by Aiden. As well, Aiden also has to deal with the upcoming arrival of Mother & the pressures she & the Dutch bring on cleansing the large numbers of vampires created by Bishop as well as who will head up Boston.

The season aspirations are highly built in the returning episode alone & outside of a very lackluster cliffhanger at the end of the episode the return really delivers. The series does seem set on making Aiden the most tragic of characters & every time it seems like they are going to cross into Angel territory with him he quickly recovers & shows that he is just not a moody chiseled character. Josh continues to bring a much needed lightheartedness to the series but now it also seems that he is matched with Lisa now that she is rid of her revenge problems from season 1. As well the addition of Nora & the expectations that Mother brings stack the episode up in a great way that is all knocked out of the park. While the US adaptation stacked itself with a similar story line, to be honest I never got passed episode 2 of the British series, & more handsome actors the series seems to have clearly set itself apart from & homage its original series in depth & other series in dedication to creating a monster series about the people behind their monster archetypes.
