Grade: B+
With the arrest of Nina Sharp in the red universe things start to look good for the Fringe Divisions as they may finally be able to see what David Robert Jones is planning. That is, until, things start to take a strange turn in the prime universe. With Lincoln Lee now helping out on the other side due to his complex feelings for Olivia we get to see another cross over. This time Walter joins the other Fringe Division as a consultant to help find out just why people in the blue universe are dying the way their counterparts are in the red universe. In an episode that continues the dance of struggle with David Robert Jones we get to see more develop & learn just what Jones may be up to.
After a strange death in the blue/prime universe it starts to look like it may have something to do with the other universe & after some parlay we see Walter decide to take his first steps & travel the great divide to add some insight on just what is going on. To say this episode is emotional for Walter does not do it justice. As many parallels are drawn from Walters story we see the deep down truths of who he is & how that expands to everyone in the newly formed reality. As it becomes clear that David Robert Jones is behind the recent Fringe cases the team decides to see if they can use their recent capture, Nina Sharp, to their advantage.
As the search to find & stop Broyles begins it is more & more clear that his actions are much like Walters. As one of the main themes of
Fringe, the lengths we will go for someone, is used to Broyles advantage it becomes clear that these decisions echo through to other characters as well. Ranging from Lincoln to Jones each has a core story & ideal that resonates with everyone. This resonance even becomes a broader aspect as Walter demonstrates how each universe is tuned to a specific note.
With the ending near & a decision still unknown on wether
Fringe will stay or go it is still clear that they will take the series as far as they can no matter what. In what has been a very decisive season to expand & continue its story we see that there is no stopping much like Jones until an end is reached. Wether that comes at the end of the season or another is still anyones guess.
