The Bedrock @ The Wormhole.

From The Wormhole

So, The Wormhole Coffee has quickly become a pretty infamous local due to their very famous DeLorean, which now hovers over the bathroom, & their love of retro 80’s nostalgia ranging from a tube television where you can play Nintendo games to framed vintage posters. Just from being located in the heart of Wicker Park on Milwaukee Ave can strike the fear of a hipster mecca into most peoples hearts. The faint of heart should not worry as The Wormhole has some of the friendliest staff in the city who are all dedicated to the coffee they are serving. It’s no wonder that a place so dedicated to nostalgia & crafting such amazing drinks would come up with something so wonderful as The Bedrock.

From the first sip it’s like being transported back to an early saturday morning as a kid, parents still asleep, & being mere inches away from a tube television watching cartoons with a big bowl of Fruity Pebbles. Just 7 ounces served over ice, The Bedrock is a delightful mix of espresso, Fruity Pebbles infused syrup, & cereal milk all layered into some velvety steamed milk. As The Wormhole’s signature seasonal drink, The Bedrock is no doubt a refreshingly cool treat anytime of the day especially with these warmer Chicago days. Just from the way the espresso compliments & tones down the sweetness of the infused syrup & cereal milk combo it is an unexpected delight. At $3.75 a serving it is very hard to not order another & another especially when you realize how easy it is to guzzle them down.
