As
Aclcatraz comes closer to its close in its penultimate episode,
”Garrett Stillman”, the central mystery of the story only heightens as returned inmate Garrett Stillman starts running a muck heisting armored trucks throughout San Francisco. Though little reveal is continued to be given there is still more than most episodes of which flashbacks deal exclusively in the inmates backstory. As
”Garrett Stillman” unfolds, we see that Stillman was, as well as Tommy Madsen, a central player in the web the Warden was weaving. With his return we see that, like other inmates, he was given specific instructions on completing some sort of task & it becomes more clear that these returned inmates have some sort of central handler who has been supplying them. Though
”Garrett Stillman” continues the trend of being stingy & giving little reveal it is able to accomplish much more than most episodes of the series have by not only building & giving a bit of reveal but additionally giving a taught backstory & current heist story that leaves the episode with & heightened desire, like none other in the series, for the finale.
